THE STORM (age 14)
A flash of lightning,
A peal of thunder,
Then the rain
Begins to fall!
A darkening sky,
The sultry air,
And the rain
Is everywhere!
A flash of lightning,
A peal of thunder,
And the storm
Is at its height!
The rocking trees,
The swaying boughs,
The birds have
Taken flight!
A flash of lightning
A sudden terrific roar!
The wind doth cease,
The sun comes out,
Thus the storm
Is o’er!
