SANTA AND HIS JOURNEY (age 12)
Santa brings us many joys,
Also toys for girls and boys,
Nuts and raisins, also grapes.
Lots of candy in various shapes.
While we are in our soft warm beds,
With the cover about our heads,
Poor old Santa! He’s out in the snow
Packing his pack so he can go.
Over the hills and far away,
Through playgrounds where children play,
Over mountains high and low,
And through places where reindeer dread to go.
He goes down the chimney that’s square and wide,
And often times he has to hide
From curious eyes that do all they can
To spy on this “fat and jolly” old man.
Now his journey’s over; it was long and cold.
And he has returned to his home at the pole,
Before the children open their eyes
To find in their stockings their
Christmas surprise.
